Polish-speaking Finance Manager – Accounting & Business Control
Would you like to play a key role in building the financial structure for Prima Vård’s growing operations in Poland? Nordstjernan is the principal owner of Prima Vård.
Would you like to play a key role in building the financial structure for Prima Vård’s growing operations in Poland?
Prima Vård is expanding internationally through the acquisition of primary care clinics in Poland. We are now looking for an experienced, hands-on Finance Manager with a strong accounting background and proven controller experience to take responsibility for accounting quality, consolidation, reporting and business control for our Polish operations.
This is a newly established and business-critical position offering the opportunity to build and develop accounting processes, reporting structures and financial routines in a growing international organization.
You will be based at Prima Vård’s head office in central Malmö and report to the Country Manager in Poland.
You will work closely with the Swedish finance team, as well as local management, finance employees and accounting partners in Poland.
Today, Prima Vård operates six healthcare businesses across several locations in Poland, organized into five legal entities. The ambition is to grow to approximately ten businesses by the end of 2026, with ambitions for significant further expansion over the coming years.
Your role
As Polish-speaking Finance Manager, you will combine responsibility for accounting, consolidation and group reporting with a controller remit for the Polish operations. You will consolidate the Polish sub-group, ensure reliable reporting to the parent company in Malmö and provide the Country Manager with financial analysis and actionable insights to support decisions and business performance.
A key priority will be to learn Prima Vård Sweden’s financial processes, reporting standards and ways of working through close day-to-day collaboration with the Swedish team. You will actively transfer this knowledge to the newly established Polish organization, adapting and implementing relevant routines to suit local requirements. This includes supporting local colleagues and accounting partners in building the competence and consistent practices needed for continued growth.
The day-to-day bookkeeping of the Polish companies is currently managed either by external accounting firms or by local employees. Strong accounting quality, closing processes, consolidation and reporting remain the foundation of the role. Alongside this, you will take an active controller role in performance follow-up, budgeting and forecasting. This is a hands-on position: you will investigate details, resolve issues and undertake selected operational accounting tasks when needed.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Ensuring the quality and accuracy of the accounting and financial reporting of the Polish subsidiaries
Coordinating month-end and year-end closing processes for the Polish entities
Consolidating the Polish subsidiaries and reporting the financial results to the parent company in Malmö
Developing and implementing accounting processes, routines, internal controls and reporting structures
Coordinating and following up the work performed by local employees and external accounting firms
Ensuring consistent accounting principles and high-quality financial information across the Polish organization
Taking responsibility for business control: analyzing revenue, costs, profitability and relevant KPIs at clinic, company and Polish sub-group level
Coordinating budgets and forecasts, analyzing deviations and following up agreed improvement actions with local management
Supporting the financial integration of newly acquired healthcare businesses
Acting as a financial business partner to the Country Manager and local management teams, translating analysis into practical recommendations
Transferring financial knowledge, processes and ways of working from the Swedish team to local colleagues and accounting partners in Poland
Managing selected operational accounting tasks when required
Some travel to Poland will be part of the role.
Your background
We are looking for a qualified finance professional with a strong accounting foundation and proven experience in financial or business control. You combine expertise in closing, consolidation and reporting with the ability to explain business performance and support operational decisions. You are comfortable taking ownership while remaining close enough to the details to identify and resolve issues yourself.
You may currently be working as a Finance Manager, a Financial Controller with a broad accounting remit, or in a similar role combining accounting and performance management. Experience from an international group or a multi-entity environment is valuable, as is experience of acquisitions and the integration of new subsidiaries.
To succeed in the role, we believe that you have:
· A university degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field
· Several years of relevant experience in qualified accounting, financial reporting or auditing
· Strong knowledge of Polish accounting and statutory reporting requirements
· Experience of month-end and year-end closing processes
· Experience of consolidation and reporting in a group structure
· Practical controller experience, including financial analysis, KPI follow-up, budgeting, forecasting and support to operational management
· Experience of developing accounting processes, routines and internal controls
· A good understanding of the interaction between local accounting requirements and group reporting
· Strong system skills and confidence working with financial and reporting systems
· Fluency in Polish, both spoken and written
· Very good command of business English, both spoken and written
Knowledge of Swedish is an advantage but not a requirement.
Experience from healthcare, a regulated industry or a rapidly growing acquisition-driven organization would also be beneficial.
Who are you?
This position requires someone who combines accounting expertise and commercial understanding with structure, initiative and strong communication skills. You enjoy building reliable routines and turning financial information into practical support for the business.
You are analytical and quality-conscious, while also being pragmatic and solution-oriented. You are comfortable working independently, taking ownership and driving improvements, but you also understand that success depends on learning from others and building trusting relationships across countries, functions and cultures.
You communicate clearly with finance professionals, external partners and operational managers. You are curious about established ways of working, willing to learn from your Swedish colleagues and able to explain and transfer knowledge in a clear, supportive way. You enjoy working close to day-to-day operations while building processes that can support a much larger organization over time.
